- Make ready Chicken with bones
- Take For Marinating:
- Take yoghurt
- Take salt
- Prepare turmeric powder
- Take For paste to be fried and blended:
- Take cumin seeds
- Take green cardamom
- Prepare cloves
- Take cinnamon piece
- Take medium sliced onions
- Make ready garlic
- Make ready ginger sliced
- Make ready Oil
- Take medium tomatoes (puree)
- Get red chilli powder
- Prepare coriander powder
- Prepare cumin powder
- Prepare garam masala powder
- Prepare kasturi methi (roasted and crushed)
- Get as required Oil for cooking
Instructions to make Chicken Gravy:
- Marinate the chicken with curd, turmeric and salt as specified. Set aside for 20-25 mins.
- To make the paste heat oil in a pan and add the whole spices as specified followed by onions, ginger and garlic. Mix well and fry it on medium flame for 4-5 mins till the onions are soft and transparent. Remove and cool.
- Grind it into a coarse paste first and then add 2-3 tbsp water and blend it into a fine paste.
- Heat oil in the same pan and add the blended paste. Saute and stirr on medium flame for 4 mins till the mixture is fried and oil is separated. Make sure the colour doesn't become brown.
- Now it's the time to add the mango puree and saute well. Keep stirring and you will see oil seperating and now add red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder. Cook until the raw smell goes.
- Add the marinated chicken and mix it and cook for 5 mins on high flame. Keep stirring. Add garam masala, salt and 250ml of water. Cover and cook on medium flame for 10mins.
- Add kasuri methi and again again allow to cook for 5 more mins. Our chicken gravy is ready. Serve hot
