Make thick coarse paste Add rest of ingredients except oil (Coriander leaves, curry leaves, asafoetida, mint leaves, Palak, baking soda, Lemon juice) to make thick batter Heat oil in the deep frying pan. Palak Dal is nothing but dal temperd with Palak tadka but that process is long and honestly not as tasty as the one I am about to share with you.

  1. First wash cleaned Palak under running water or u can keep it in kadhai with full of water and 1 tsp vinegar which will clean your palak.
  2. After washing palak take a cooker pan add washed pulses as per ingredient.few finely chopped tomato and onion, 3 to 4 garlic cloves along with water, let it pressure cook for 3 whistles.
  3. Now take pan or kadhai,add oil, let it heat,after that add mustard seeds and wait until it splutters.
  4. Now add onion untili it becomes translucent then add tomatos,garlic,green chillies,and dry red chillies with curry leaves and all masalas along with salt as per taste.
  5. Now add mashed palak and cook for 5 to 7 minutes with 1 cup of water.
  6. Vidharbha style dal palak is ready.Enjoy it with chapati or rice.

I always feel dal palak tastes best when made with basic ingredients otherwise the buttery taste & flavor of palak is lost.
