- Wash the tomatoes. Boil the water add tomatoes.

- Remove the core. I used a Mellon baller. Remember you may forget that the tomatoes are still raw in the middle. Crush and set aside. Retain the juices.
- Boil the pasta in the same water you used to scald the tomatoes. Add salt to the water. Save a cup of the pasta water.
- Drain the pasta and add 1-1/2 teaspoon kosher salt.
- Render the bacon with the onions.
- When the onion is tender add the tomatoes.
- Add the salt for the tomatoes. Stew the tomatoes for 15 minutes. Thicken with a bit of the pasta water.
- Add the pasta stir well.
